New Year, New Blog!

Hello, and welcome to the very first blog post on Words Pages Books!! Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog – I hope you like it enough to keep coming back! I was thinking that this first post could be an introduction to who I am and what this blog is, so let’s get started.

Who am I? I’m a 19 year old university student studying in Montreal, Canada. I’m a physiology major and a classics minor, and love love LOVE reading. Honestly, one of the hardest things about moving into my own apartment has been managing how much I read and where to find the best light for my bookstagram photos. I’m a Scorpio sun, Aquarius moon and Taurus rising. I would like to say that I’m unbiased in the dog vs cats debate, but I can’t help but like dogs a little more (I grew up with them what can I say). Goodread’s reading goal is one of my main motivations in life, and I have 3 tumblr blogs.

Where did this blog come from? I’ve always wanted to do more than just have an instagram dedicated to books. At first I thought about making a YouTube channel, but I have zero experience with movie editing and stuff like that. Then I thought of opening a twitter account (which honestly, I still might do) but I didn’t really have any motivation. And then this year I was like “Monika, if you don’t start something, then you never will”. You know, new year, new me, all that stuff. And so I started a blog!

What will be on here? Well lots of things probably. I’d like to say it’ll be solely book related, but knowing me I’ll post about the Netflix shows I’m watching and things like that. But it’ll be mainly books (I promise). I’ll post reviews of books, lists of what books I’m excited for or going to read or that I love. I’ll post straight up photos from my bookstagram and metaphorically yell at you to go look at them. And if you want to see something on the blog, just let me know! I love sharing opinions, so hit me up with those hard-hitting questions!

Monika, be honest, how long will this last? That’s the million dollar question. If I was a perfect person, who wasn’t in university and could just read all day and write all night, then it would last forever. But I am and I can’t. So here’s the plan. I will post at least twice a week, if not more. I want to make this work more than anything, but exams are a thing. So maybe during midterms and finals I post once a week. Who knows. I’ll update something on my blog (wow I can say that now!). But anyways, it will last as long and it can, and I’ll thank whoever sticks with me for it ❤

So that’s all! I’ll be posting a review of a book I did fairly soon, with more to come!

Have a good day ducks!
